Junior doctors study leave (for grades F2 and above)
Study leave is available for FY2 doctors, SHOs and SpRs. All trainee Trust appointments are entitled to study leave. This includes time off and funding. The study leave policy outlines entitlement and is reviewed annually so please refer to it.
Trust appointed trainees (F2 and above) can apply for their leave via the Intrepid system. Details of how to do this and the relevant links are in the study leave process document, which will help you with guidance and details of how to obtain a login (firstname.lastname@example.org). There is also a flowchart of the process for your information, which also contains links.
All applications have to be prospective and fully completed with an up to date training agreement agreed with their supervisor. All trainees must also be up to date with their statutory and mandatory training before study leave can be finalised and reimbursed.
Junior doctors who are out of programme, such as fellows or trust grade doctors, must still use the paper forms as they are not included on the online database. All other criteria still apply – but it must be noted that funding for fellows and trust grade doctors is discretionary.
All expenses must now be claimed through the E-pay system. If you have not registered with the epay system, information and a quick guide are available on staffnet (link only available from a Trust computer). Please note we no longer accept paper copies of expenses.
