Our Leadership Academy enrols outstanding leaders from all parts of UHS as associates for one year to:
- Share and build on good practice and learning with their peers
- Actively develop their leadership qualities and behaviours
- Shape and deliver agreed projects, with energy and enthusiasm, that have tangible benefits in improving the safety and the standards of care for all our patients.
- Present their feedback at an annual conference that will celebrate the achievements of each associate
Successful completion of an academy year will enable associates to be considered for further senior development; UHS benefits from the innovations to service delivery.
" If you are a senior clinician or manager and you have a project that impacts on patient care that you would like to develop, then consider the Leadership Academy. You will get to network with colleagues in similar positions, learn more about yourself and be given tools you can use on a daily basis to improve your service and the patient experience" Annette Purkiss, head of therapies.
"Being on the Leadership Academy whilst delivering a project allowed me to use the new skills I learnt instantaneously. This allowed me to see the effect it had on my development and on my project and make adjustments accordingly." Rachel Bailey, service improvement manager.
