Visiting medical students and overseas elective medical students
All visiting medical students to UHSFT, including overseas elective medical students, are managed and placed via the Medical School. For details on how to apply, please refer to the School of Medicine| website and click on the Clinical Electives Information link.
Any consultants offering placements to students, even if with yourself only, must liaise with the Medical School before approval is given. Please ensure you make contact with the elective placements co-ordinator in the School of Medicine. This is not only to allow for appropriate administrative arrangements to be made, but also to ensure other visiting elective students are not offered placements in your department at the same time.
It is essential that we manage student numbers, with the increasing volume of internal medical students, MMC changes and external demand for elective placements.
