The UHS Cancer Centre launches its education programme on 25 September 2013. The programme brings together the skills, expertise and experience of a multidisciplinary team of professionals from medical, clinical and haemato oncology to offer a range of education days aimed at all experienced healthcare professionals within primary and secondary care, caring for patients who have been diagnosed with cancer.
Each stand alone education day will provide delegates with a full day of teaching, a free lunch and the opportunity to network with other professionals. Each day is free of charge to UHS staff and £100 to professionals from outside the trust.
The first education day, 'Current challenges in breast cancer', will be held on 25 September and aims to cover the most important recent developments in breast cancer. Delivered by experts, attendees will gain insight into the current challenge of breast cancer and updates on the treatment pathway and beyond. The keynote speaker will be Professor Lesley Fallowfield, professor of psycho oncology, University of Sussex and director of Sussex Health Outcomes Research and Education in Cancer, who will speak on managing the psycho social issues of breast cancer.
