Shops and facilities at Southampton General Hospital

Facilities at Southampton General Hospital include:

• Information room - this is located at the entrance to the hospital, and provides travel information and leaflets about benefits, disability and healthcare. Please note this is not an advice centre. 
• Taxi freephone - inside the main entrance doors. 
• Post box - outside the main entrance. 
• Cashpoint machine - there is a 24 hour machine on C level (main entrance) in east wing.
• Photo machine - on C level near the west wing lift lobby.
• Shops - these are located at the main entrance and include a newsagent, jeweller, clothing shop, League of Friends shop, and several food and drink outlets.
• Post - there is a post box in the main reception area. If you are unable to get to the post box, please tell the ward staff who will be able to help.
• Vending machines – for hot and cold drinks and snacks.
• Restaurants -
  • Spice of Life on Level B, centre block. Open to all staff as well as patients, visitors and the public. The restaurant has a made-to-order-sandwich bar, a dedicated pizza and pasta bar, cooked-to-order meals and traditional favourites.

    The opening hours are 7.30am until 7.30pm, Monday to Friday and 8am to 7pm at weekends. There are a number of vending machines dispensing hot drinks, snacks and ready to cook meals in the entrance, available at all times.

  • Coffee lounge, south academic block. Offers hot snacks, hot meals between 12 and 2pm, sandwiches, baguettes, cold drinks and pastries. Open 8.30am until 3.45pm Monday to Friday.

  • League of Friends. Hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and other snacks available in the eye unit and on F level.
