SUHT is one of only eight hospitals selected throughout England to take part in the NHS Showcase Hospitals Programme, which aims to reduce infection and save lives.
The Trust came second in the country for MRSA prevalence from April 2009 to December 2009.
The programme aims to speed up the development and adoption of technologies to help combat healthcare associated infections (HCAIs) particularly MRSA and C.dfficile.
