Biochemistry tutorials for GPs

A tutorial has been developed by the biochemistry department at UHS to support the roll out of the integrated clinical environment (ICE) electronic requesting system across all GP practices in Southampton over the next few months.

The aims of this program are:

  • To help apply biochemistry appropriately in the investigation and management of patients
  • To manage demand
  • For continuing professional development (CPD)

Demand management will be a key feature of the ICE roll out and we believe it will deliver significant efficiency savings to the local health economy.

There will be a clinical case and demand management case tutorials with links to accompanying key learning points.

New tutorials will be posted regularly.

The link to the first tutorial is www.uhs.nhs.uk/BiochemistrytutorialforGPs
