For GPs: rapid access chest pain clinic

Referrals

Referrals must be made by the GP who suspects angina. We are required to see patients within 14 days of the referral date.

After the patient's appointment

When the consulting doctor has all the information they need they will make a decision about a management plan. The management plan will then be discussed with the patient before it is faxed to their GP.

Most patients will be discharged back to their GP if further cardiac investigations are not required.
