Interventional Radiologists

An interventional radiologist is a doctor who has trained to perform different procedures using x-ray or ultrasound guidance. The vascular radiologists have the ability to diagnose problems using direct imaging (ultrasound or x-ray) or using the latest computer generated images with the aid of a CT scan or an MRI (magnetic resonance image) scan. The radiologist will assess the request for imaging, from the vascular specialist, and then choose the most suitable investigation. Once the diagnosis has been comfirmed he will offer treatment where possible.
