Dr Anneliese Day
Anneliese offers specialist psychological assessments and therapy to individuals with a facial nerve weakness. Patients must be referred by another professional within the Wessex Facial Nerve Centre.
Anneliese has 15 years’ experience of working with people within the NHS and private sector to provide psychological interventions. She completed a doctorate in clinical psychology in 2009, and is experienced in using a range of therapeutic models, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT); acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT).
Anneliese has worked with patients of a wide range of ages, and with a variety of problems. She can help with many of the difficulties related to having a facial nerve weakness, including
- depression or low mood
- anxiety, worry and stress
- post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- low self-esteem
- body image concerns or body dysmorphia
- medically unexplained symptoms
- grief or loss
- improving personal well-being and mental health.
