The Wessex Facial Nerve Centre
The Wessex Facial Nerve Centre is a regional service dedicated to the treatment of facial nerve disorders and injuries. Damage to the facial nerve can result in varying degrees of paralysis with recovery dependent on the severity of the damage.
The Wessex Facial Nerve Centre brings together the skills, expertise and experience of a team of medical, surgical and rehabilitation specialists. They offer a full range of treatments and advanced surgical techniques in the management of what is a very complex disorder.
The centre is able to provide early and late management of facial weakness following any type of neurosurgical, skull base, or otologic procedure.
We are also able to use the combined skills of the team to treat patients who have a facial weakness or cosmetic deformity following trauma or have a residual disfiguring weakness following a facial paralysis.
If you wish to have a discussion with one of the team please contact us on WFNC@uhs.nhs.uk leaving your details. We will then contact you at a convenient time and hopefully address any of your queries.
