Hospital Care
Countess Mountbatten House has a link into hospitals through our Hospital Palliative Care Team. This specialised team of doctors and nurses works alongside ward staff at Southampton General, Royal South Hants and Princess Anne Hospitals.
They are specialists in controlling the symptoms of both cancer and other active, progressive diseases, and are skilled in pain and symptom control. In addition they offer support and practical advice to patients, their families and carers.
The Team is made up of a consultant, specialist registrar in palliative medicine, two part-time and two full-time clinical nurse specialists and a part-time secretary, all of whom are based at Southampton General Hospital but are an integral part of Countess Mountbatten House.
