Dr Catherine Heath

Dr Heath is our lead clinician for treatment of urological malignancies including external beam radiotherapy (IMRT with image guidance), prostate brachytherapy (low dose rate and high dose rate) and radioisotopes including radium-223.

Jennifer Marshall

Dr Jennifer Marshall

Dr Marshall has experience in chemotherapy, radiotherapy and hormone therapy for treatment of early stage and metastatic breast cancer, as well as radioiodine therapy and external beam radiotherapy for thyroid cancer.

Dr McFarlane sub-specialises in the treatment of gynaecological and anal cancers, treating patients with chemotherapy, radiotherapy and high dose rate brachytherapy.

We have a team of experienced radiographers, who will operate the radiotherapy equipment during your visits. These are the members of our team who you will probably see most often, and they can answer any questions about your treatment and the procedures involved.

Our team includes

  • eight superintendent radiographers
  • 15 senior radiographers
  • 20 junior radiographers

Support staff

Our radiographers and oncologists are supported by a team of additional staff, who you may meet. They include

  • a staff grade doctor
  • seven specialist registrars
  • healthcare assistants
  • three administrative staff
  • radiotherapy physicists
  • dosimetrists, responsible for drawing up your treatment plan.

Our department also has close links with other healthcare professionals who may be involved in your treatment, such as

  • physiotherapists
  • dietitians
  • occupational therapists
  • specialist and liaison nurses
  • physicists
  • biomechanical engineers
  • admin and clerical staff
  • Macmillan information and support staff

The League of Friends also have a presence in the radiotherapy department. They run the coffee shop and snack bar in the radiotherapy waiting room.
