Teenage and young adult (TYA) cancer care
Southampton General Hospital is a specialist cancer centre for young people. There is a dedicated team of specialists who have particular knowledge and experience in looking after young people with cancer and leukaemia. They all work together to provide expert care. As this cancer centre is so large, it means that we have many experts at our fingertips. We treat a wide range of cancers, from the common to the very rare. We also link with other hospitals in the UK and abroad to ensure the best treatment is available.
We recognise that teenagers’ and young adults’ needs are different from older adults, and different from young children, so we do what we can to offer extra help and support to help you and your family deal with what is happening and to keep your life as normal as possible.
