How to look after your hearing aid
You have been given an instruction leaflet for your hearing aid. This explains how to:
-
switch the hearing aid on and off
-
change batteries
-
operate the controls.
The model or type of hearing aid you have can be found by looking at the underside of the hearing aid. If you have a Reflex M, Reflex DP or Reflex DSP hearing aid you can download another copy of the instruction leaflet|. If you have a different hearing aid or do not know which hearing aid you have, please call the hearing aid department.
Our top tips for looking after your hearing aid aid:
-
Remove the aid and turn it off at the end of the day.
-
Keep it in the case when not in use, away from pets and small children.
-
Never let the hearing aid get wet (only the earmould is water- resistant). Wash the earmould at least once a week.
-
The earmould should be re-tubed every 4-6 months.
-
Bring your beige Hearing Aid Record Book whenever you come to see us.
-
Wear your hearing aid as much as possible, to give your ears time to tune into the new sound.
