Outreach Team
This specialist team respond to emergency calls within the hospital Trust.
They are called by ward nursing or medical staff to give advanced clinical advice or treatment if a patient's condition is deteriorating.
Their aim is to prevent patients from having to be admitted to intensive care. They respond to almost 2,000 visits every year.
The seven-strong team are also involved in educating ward staff about critical care – including identifying early signs of deterioration so staff can take proactive action quickly.
