The Outreach service was developed within the Trust in 2000, with three aims:

To avert patient admissions to intensive care

To ensure timely discharges are followed up

To share critical care skills with ward staff
The Outreach Team are highly trained and have considerable experience in caring for critically ill patients.
They also developthe critical care skills of colleagues on the wards, by providing support and training in Intensive Care techniques and procedures, as well as regular advice.
