Departments

The eye unit at Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust has the following separate departments:

Eye inpatients and eye surgery - including day case and short stay surgery
Optometry - treatment of low vision conditions as well as contact lens fitting
Orthoptics - assessing and treating eye movement and visual disorders
Outpatients - regular clinics
Southampton diabetic retinopathy screening service - screening for diabetics over the age of 12 years

We also have a dedicated unit for eye emergencies| and a specialist children's eye service|.
