We'll monitor your progress at our macular (small area at centre of retina) clinic if you've had an operations or you have age-related macular degeneration (AMD). This is where the delicate cells of the macular become damaged and stop working, causing you to lose your central vision. Find out more on NHS Choices.
If you come to this clinic, you'll need eye drops to let us examine the back of your eye. Do not drive yourself to hospital as the eyedrops dilate your pupils and blur your vision for a few hours. You will not be able to drive home.
Where possible, if you have AMD we will see you in the morning, and give you any treatment in the afternoon.
