Rescue medicines

No one expects or wants to have an allergic reaction but you must always be ready to treat one.

Make sure you have your antihistamine medicine and adrenaline auto-injectors with you at all times.

Make sure you know how to recognise a mild reaction and what to do, and how to recognise a severe reaction (anaphylaxis) and what to do.

If you are unsure, contact your allergy clinic and make an appointment to see the allergy nurse, who will be happy to help you.
