The Lupus Clinic

The Lupus Clinic:- Southampton General HospitalThe clinic was launched in October 2002 and treats patients with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus and other autoimmune and connective tissue disorders. The clinic is also committed to undertaking research into the causes and treatment of lupus and other connective tissue diseases.

Patients are referred to the clinic from General Practitioners throughout Hampshire, the Isle of Wight and Dorset. Referrals are also received from other departments within Southampton General Hospital and hospitals around the region.

As one of the largest Trusts in the area, there is a full range of support services available to the clinic.  Patients who have multi-system disease benefit from being close to other specialists within Southampton General Hospital.

Patients requiring intravenous therapies receive treatment at a short-stay unit in Southampton General Hospital.  If patients require care as an inpatient, they will be admitted to one of the medical wards.
