Laser protection service
We provide laser safety advice by an accredited laser protection adviser within the Trust and to other clients in the area who use medical or cosmetic lasers, or intense pulsed light systems.
If you require training in laser safety, we run laser safety courses covering the 'Core of Knowledge' from the MHRA's guidance on the safe use of lasers in medical and dental practice, including intense pulsed light systems.
We also provide advice and training on safety with other non-ionising radiations including ultraviolet and blue-light phototherapy and ultrasound. We support the phototherapy unit in the dermatology department in Southampton, and can also offer diagnostic ultrasound quality assurance measurements.
