Lasers
We provide laser safety advice by an accredited laser protection advisor to Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust and to other clients in the area who use medical or cosmetic lasers, or intense pulsed light systems.
We run a laser safety course| covering the "core of knowledge" from the MHRA's guidance on the safe use of lasers in medical and dental practice, including intense pulsed light systems. This is run regularly for doctors, nurses, theatre staff and others using medical or cosmetic lasers. We also carry out bespoke laser safety training.
Ultraviolet phototherapy
We provide scientific support and quality assurance service to the phototherapy unit in dermatology, and measurements and advice are offered to other users of ultraviolet or blue-light phototherapy.
Ultrasound
We carry out image and doppler quality assurance assessments on diagnostic ultrasound equipment and can measure output power of therapeutic and diagnostic ultrasound equipment.
