The Pharmacy department's facilities include:

four dispensaries, in the General Hospital, Eye Unit, Cancer Care and Royal South Hants Hospital

two aseptic (sterile) drug preparation areas, in the main pharmacy (SGH) and Cancer Care

the regional Medicines Information centre
Within the store the Pharmacy has a state-of-the-art dispensing robot, one of only a handful in the country. This machine can collect medicines quickly and accurately from its stock and collate them – either as stock for the ward or for an individual patient.
The robot saves time and storage space, and ensures stock rotation, thereby helping Pharmacy staff to provide best value for money for the Trust.
By performing some of the straightforward stock-selection functions, the robot enables us to concentrate on the clinical aspects of patient care.
