Almost all patients receive some sort of medicine during their time in the hospital. The Pharmacy department makes sure the medicines you take are safe, appropriate and cost-effective.
The department employs a variety of staff, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy support workers and clerical staff. You may come across any of these people during your hospital stay.
The Pharmacy supplies medicines and pharmaceutical expertise to the wards and departments of the hospital.
Our staff dispense hospital prescriptions and make sure that patients understand their treatment. We also prepare injections to treat cancer and infections, and nutrition that goes directly into the bloodstream.
