Metabolic bone clinic

The metabolic bone clinic provides services for the diagnosis, investigation and management of conditions including:

  • osteoporosis
  • Paget's disease
  • hyperparathyroidism
  • vitamin D related disorders
  • complex metabolic bone disease.

The clinic has access to a full range of support services, most notably bone density assessments with the state-of-the art DXA instruments located at the osteoporosis centre, and the infusion unit which is located in Victoria House.

The clinic is closely connected with the osteoporosis centre and the academic programme led by Professor Cyrus Cooper at the MRC Lifecourse Epidemiology Unit.

In partnership with teams in the child health and genetics departments, the clinic also provide services for diagnosis, investigation and management of children and young adults with metabolic bone conditions.
