Referring your patient to the epilepsy service
Referrals are made to the complex epilepsy clinic for people with who have complex epilepsy needs. Referrals can be made in writing to the epilepsy team secretary|.
Consultants can refer a patient in writing to the epilepsy team secretary| for assessment for epilepsy surgery.
A referral form for the first seizure clinic| is available from the Emergency Department and the acute medical unit (AMU) in Southampton General Hospital. It is also available online for health professionals from the extranet|, or from the epilepsy team secretary. This should be returned as soon as possible via fax or e-mail, using the contact details that are on the referral form.
