Our Services
Physiotherapy currently provides a service for patients with respiratory problems in the Wessex Neurological Centre, in Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit and the High Dependency Unit from 08.00 - 20.30 on weekdays and a weekend respiratory service from 08.00 - 12.30. Services include patient assessment, review, treatment, and advice or related teaching to other clinical staff. Occupational therapy provides a Mon-Fri 08.30 - 16.30 service.
A weekend mobility therapy service is also provided for patients, in order to facilitate treatment progression and discharge planning where appropriate.
The therapy team also advise other hospitals and centres in the district and Wessex region on the management of patients with neurological disorders, and a national role in the development and improvement of neurological services.
