The gamma camera machines

We have five gamma cameras in our imaging department plus a dedicated research camera.

Each machine has a nickname -

Sopha and Infinia

Gamma Camera nicknamed sopha           Gamma Camera nicknamed Infinia

These are our two double-headed cameras used for the majority of our imaging techniques where whole-body or three-dimensional images are required.

Homer and Bart

Gamma Camera nicknamed Homer        Gamma Camera nicknamed Bart

These are our single headed cameras which are used studies where smaller images are required, such as renal or thyroid scans. They are ideal for imaging children as the camera can be hidden under the bed away from view.

Mediso

                                 Gamma Camera called Mediso

Our fifth camera, the Mediso is dedicated to brain imaging.
