Where is Cardiac MRI?

Cardiac MRI is at Southampton General Hospital|.

Parking| at the hospital can be difficult - please allow plenty of time to queue for spaces.

Note that you are asked to arrive 15 minutes before your scan time to allow time for preparation.

As there are several MRI scanners in the hospital, take care if asking for directions - ask to be directed to North Wing, E level.

Once on site, there are two entrances that can be used:

  1. The main hospital entrance will bring you in to the shopping area. Turn left at the fast-food area, walk past the cashpoints and on to the East Wing lift concourse. Take the lifts or stairs up to E level. Behind a large pillar is the entrance to North Wing and Cardiac MRI Scanner is signposted. Follow these signs some distance. Just before the end of the corridor is a waiting room and reception desk on your left.
  2. Alternatively, do not use the main entrance. Instead, turn left and walk around the front of the hospital building heading towards the Emergency Department entrance. Before you get to it though, you'll arrive at North Wing entrance (covered by a large white awning). Enter here and take the lift or stairs on the left up to E level. You'll emerge opposite the Cardiac MRI reception.

See a map of the hospital site|. Cardiac MRI is in North Wing - under the notation Cardiac.
