Treatment and management
The PCD Consultant or Specialist Nurse will explain your results to you.
They will explain about PCD.
You can be seen by the PCD physiotherapist who will teach you how to keep your chest clear
The mainstay of treatment is chest physiotherapy, antibiotics and ENT (ears, nose and throat) management.
You will be advised to have a healthy diet, do lots of exercise and if your cough changes that you should take a sputum sample/cough swab to your GP or local hospital to see what antibiotic treatment you may need.
You will need to be seen every 3-4 months by a hospital doctor.
-
Children are seen by the Southampton PCD service.
