Your visit to the Respiratory Centre
On arrival to the Respiratory Centre please book in for your appointment at the reception desk on the left hand side of the corridor just before the waiting area. It is useful if you can bring with you a list of all your medications to show to the nurse, physiotherapist or doctor.
You will be seen initially by the nurse or physiotherapist, unless your condition is felt to be such that a doctor is required immediately. You will receive a thorough assessment and where appropriate will be given or advised on treatment options.
Once you have had an initial review at the Respiratory Centre you may be offered care in a variety of settings. Should the nurse or consultant feel that you require home visits this will be arranged. We also have clinics in Aldermoor and Bitterne which are more easily accessible for patients living close to those areas.
Most appointments at the Respiratory Centre last for one hour. Occasionally however, further investigations may be required and this may mean your appointment is extended.
