Changes to the main visitor car park

We've now started works to improve the main patient and visitor car park at Southampton General Hospital.

Some of this work will be to increase capacity and we'll also be making changes to improve access by creating a new entry/exit, as well as installing more up to date barrier technology to help make it quicker to get in and out. This will start from 15 May and take approximately 13 weeks to complete.

During this time there's likely to be some disruption and there will be large construction/ground work vehicle movements around some of the car park. We're working closely with all of our contractors in order to minimise the impact of this as much as possible and there will be signage and traffic marshals around the entry and exit points to help you find your way.

While the work takes places we'd advise that you leave with plenty of time to get parked or where possible make alternative transport arrangements. Thank you in advance for your patience and support whilst we improve the hospital accessibility and parking over the summer.
