Head of Clinical Pharmacy (part time)
My role
I manage the team of clinical pharmacists and technicians. We are a innovative and creative group and we like to be at the cutting-edge of delivering exemplary patient care. I am currently working with the technician team on a project to review the skill mix so everyone can utilise their skills to the full. Within the year we will have a team of ward based pharmacy technicians fully supported by pharmacy support workers.
Future aspirations
I would like our staff to have a clear career progression from band 6 to consultancy level. I would like us to have consultant posts within every speciality. I would like to see our department with further national and international involvement in the development of safer and better medicines management practice. On a personal level I would like to ensure that Southampton becomes an exemplar site for anticoagulation services and work with the thrombosis committee to maintain the momentum of this work and continued publication.
Outside interests
I have a young family and we enjoy trips to the beach, zoo and country parks. I enjoy cooking and seeing friends. Thankfully I also enjoy running and swimming to make up for all the cooking (and eating)!!
