Splenectomy guidelines audit
Recently our pre-reg won a regional poster award. The work showed that in all patients were receiving their prophylactic antibiotics, but uptake of emergency courses of antibiotic and vaccination was poor. This work involved contacting GP practices and shows the importance of communication between the primary and secondary care settings. The author is now one of our rotational clinical pharmacists.
