Meet the team

Paul Roberts

Dr Paul Roberts

Dr Roberts joined the Trust in 1996. He completed his MD thesis in 2000 on research into implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs). He was appointed as a consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist in 2002.

His particular area of expertise is in cardiac rhythm management. This involves all aspects of interventional electrophysiology with a particular interest in radiofrequency catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation.

Dr Roberts is part of a very active research group in cardiac rhythm management with a particular interest in ICD based research, and the use of non-contact mapping for risk stratification of sudden cardiac death.
