Temporary road closures on-site this weekend
As part of the construction of the new Centre for Cancer Immunology, works will take place this weekend by Kier Construction to erect a tower crane on the site of the former disabled car park (car park 2) at Southampton General Hospital.
The work will involve the closure of the road between the main entrance and West Wing. The pedestrian footpath between the main entrance and West Wing will also be closed.
The road and footpath will be closed from 6am tomorrow (Saturday) for the full day while the road will also be closed on Sunday while our commerical estates development partner Interserve undertakes white-lining to the road surface outside of the main entrance.
Access to the main car park will still be available but all traffic will have to leave via the route past North Wing and into Tremona Road.
Signage will be provided to guide pedestrians to the West Wing via the main entrance and to and from the Princess Anne Hospital via the West Wing entrance. Taxis will be re-located to the West Wing entrance.
