Making donations to our hospitals

We have been overwhelmed by the generous offers of donations for our staff. We are extremely proud of how our staff are responding to the COVID-19 outbreak and how they’ve stepped up in every role to continue to provide care to patients.

We also recognise the enormous support from our community and the desire to offer donations to our hospitals.

Southampton Hospitals Charity have created a fund dedicated to our staff to show how much we all appreciate the work they are doing and to enable us to give them the support they need throughout this difficult time.

If you’d like to donate and show your support, visit our charity website or text:

  • NHSHEROES 3 to 70460 to donate £3

  • NHSHEROES 5 to 70460 to donate £5

  • NHSHEROES 10 to 70460 to donate £10

By texting the above number, we’ll also be able to keep you updated about the charity’s work via telephone and SMS. If you’d like to opt out of this but would still like to donate, please text NHSHEROESNOINFO 3, 5 or 10.

If you have further questions, please contact our charity team.

Donations of food items

We welcome donations of fresh and packaged food items to help support our staff through this difficult time.

These items (such as fruit, biscuits and similar treats) are included in 'Boost Boxes' that are distributed to staff across the Trust.

If you would like to donate items, please email our charity team for more information.

We are unable to accept hot food items.

Donations of PPE

We are humbled by the amount of support we have received from the local community in helping us provide PPE for our staff.

We received in excess of 5,000 items including scrub bags, headbands and ear savers. These donations have been crucial in helping protect our staff during the COVID-19 response.

We are now fully stocked and are no longer able to accept donations of fabric PPE items. If you have some you'd like to donate, please consider contacting other essential organisations such as care homes.

A number of Facebook groups have been set up by members of the public and are continuing to sew for organisations in the local area. These groups have more information on collection and delivery, as well as designs and patterns for you to follow.
