For researchers

Southampton is part of the national effort to prevent, diagnose and treat COVID-19 – find out about our current COVID-19 research.

As we continue those efforts we are restarting and reopening other research studies. This is to ensure we continue to advance care and treatments for our patients across a range of conditions throughout the pandemic.

If you are conducting research not related to COVID-19, you can find out how this will affect you.

We provide research expertise and the clinical, laboratory and management support needed to conduct your research safely and efficiently.

Getting you started

We offer state of the art facilities, integrated in a core site within Southampton General Hospital and with a wider network of local collaborators and partners.

You can find out more about accessing these facilities and resources here.

Developing your research career

The Southampton Academy of Research is our centre for developing your research career, whether just starting out or looking to build your research activity.

On their pages in our Education and training section you can explore the research career pathways open to you, book onto courses and training, and access useful resources and support.

You can also listen to what other researchers have to say about their careers and work here in our Researchers’ experiences section.
