A 28 year-old lady from primary care with “infertility” on the request form. The following investigations were requested:

• FSH 6.9 iu/L (days 2 – 4; 6.2 – 11.8iu/L)
• LH 2.4 iu/L (mid follicular 2.1 – 10.9iu/L)
• Prolactin 157 mu/L (57.5 – 561 mu/L)
• Estradiol 159 pmol/L (days 2 – 4; 74 – 187 pmol/L)

Sample was taken between days 2 and 5 of the cycle.
