COVID-19 survey for inflammatory bowel disease patients
The COVID-19 pandemic has been a worrying and uncertain time for all patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and you may have been contacted as a higher risk group advising you to adopt the government advice on shielding or enhanced social distancing.
This shielding advice may have had a significant impact on all aspects of daily living; including your ability to work or to continue with education, as well as the way your care has been delivered and how you have accessed healthcare during this period.
As an IBD service we value your views on how lockdown measures have affected you as a patient and how your care is delivered in the future. We have developed a comprehensive survey to explore this and would be grateful if you could take 10 to 15 minutes to complete this for us.
Take the survey here - this is a secure site on the hospital server which is linked to My Medical Record.
Your responses are anonymous and the information will be used as part of our service planning in the event there is a further peak. We will also inform the wider IBD community of patients’ views on the COVID-19 pandemic.
If you do not have access to a device to complete survey please ask a member of your family or friend if they can help. Otherwise please contact the IBD secretary on 023 81204 965 and we will send a paper copy of the survey to your home.
Thank you - IBD team
My Medical Record information
We have developed an IBD section on My Medical Record (MyMR) to help patients take greater control over managing their IBD.
The website includes a secure messaging service for support including:
- Useful information about IBD
- Diaries to help monitor symptoms
- Access to clinic letters, test results and appointments
It can be accessed via a personal computer, tablet or smartphone and you will need to have an email account to access the website and receive notifications.
We are encouraging patients to register and you may receive either a phone call or a text message with a link on how to do this. You can also discuss this during your next clinic appointment.
More information on My Medical Record can be found here.
