Breast service

Our service is a long-established specialist unit for the diagnosis and treatment of benign breast disorders and breast cancer. Our team of specialists includes breast surgeons, radiologists, oncologists, pathologists and breast care nurses and allied health professionals.

A wide range of breast surgery is performed here, including:

  • oncological (cancer) surgery
  • and reconstructive surgery.

We also have close links with our plastic surgery colleagues and hold joint clinics for specialist reconstructive advice, following treatment for breast cancer.

Our team provides a full range of breast imaging investigations, along with the breast screening service. We also provide an intra-operative sentinel lymph node analysis service. The Wessex clinical genetics service is based at the Princess Anne Hospital, and assesses patients at high risk of developing breast cancer. We also provide a full breast care nurse specialist service.
