We have four dedicated paediatric neurosurgeons.
Mr Aabir Chakraborty
Mr Chakraborty is our lead for paediatric neurosurgery. He has interests in pituitary surgery, complex hydrocephalus including normal pressure hydrocephalus, Chiari 1 malformations and epilepsy surgery.

Mr Mathad has special interest in neuroendoscopy, paediatric, skull base and pituitary surgery. He has introduced endoscopic pituitary surgery and is developing endoscopic endonasal techniques for skull base surgery.

All our nursing staff have a neurosciences or child branch registered qualification.
Advanced practitioner support
All our patients and their families can phone the advanced practitioner for advice, information and with any concerns. Patients who have had surgery can use this for up to one month after their operation. Patients with hydrocephalus and VP shunts have open access to this support.
Colleagues
We work closely with our colleagues in the paediatric intensive care unit, children's neuro-oncology and children's neurology.
