Breast cancer clinical nurse specialists
Our service is hospital based, mainly seeing patients at Princess Anne Hospital, in oncology outpatients and Hamwic House.
We are available Monday to Friday between 8am and 4pm (excluding bank holidays). Call us on 023 8120 3753. A voicemail service is in operation and calls will be returned within 24 to 48 hours during the week, unless the voicemail message states otherwise.

Our service offers
- Presence during appointments for diagnosis, treatment decisions, results and follow up - we will act as a key worker for you throughout your care with us.
- Ability to assess your holistic needs and provide psychological support as and when required.
- Guidance through complex systems and pathways within cancer care.
- Extensive in-depth specialist knowledge about breast cancer and available treatments, as well as follow up care.
- Prothesis fittings.
- A patient initiated follow up (PIFU) service, supporting you to independently live a healthy and fulfilling life after cancer treatment.
- Support with shared decision making.
- Practical and emotional support throughout treatments.
- A trained team who can use advanced communication skills and act as an advocate on you and your family's behalf throughout your cancer journey including within our multi-disciplinary team meetings.
- Signposting to local and national support organisations.
- A key presence throughout the breast screening programme.
- Health education to women before and after a cancer diagnosis.
