Medical oncologists

Medical oncologists are doctors who have specialist training in diagnosing, assessing, treating and managing people with a diagnosis of cancer using precision medicine. Treatments include chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, immunotherapy and other targeted therapies. The medical oncologists you will see in the breast unit all specialise in treating people with breast cancer. The aim of any treatment is to provide the best possible outcome for patients, whether that’s a cure or improved survival. We have six medical oncologists in the breast unit.
