Local centres

Wessex Cancer Trust

Wessex Cancer Trust provides free and local emotional support to anyone living with cancer. They offer online support, a drop-in service, professional counselling, complementary therapies, activities, support groups and much more in their four support centres in Hythe, Chandler’s Ford, Isle of Wight and Bournemouth. They also run services in the heart of the community, including their popular Sing for Life choirs and transport on their Daisy Buses to help patients get to their hospital appointments. Visit their website for more information, or call them on 023 8067 2200.

Online forums

Some people like to share experiences with other people who have cancer in online forums or just look to see what others are saying. Macmillan and Cancer Research UK have regularly monitored forums:

The Swallows Southampton Group

This group, run by The Swallows Head & Neck Cancer Support Charity, is an online support group for patients and their family in the Southampton area, affected by a diagnosis of head and neck cancer.

They provide local information and support, including monthly meetings for patients and carers.
