How can I be referred to a member of the clinical health psychology team?

We can see you if you're currently under the care of a consultant in one of the following services at Southampton General Hospital:

  • Adult congenital cardiac services
  • Adult cystic fibrosis
  • Bone marrow transplant (BMT) and cell therapy team
  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
  • Complex cancer and exenteration team
  • Difficult asthma
  • Gastroenterology
  • Liaison psychiatry
  • Major trauma service
  • Primary ciliary dyskinesia
  • Rheumatology
  • Sickle cell service
  • Teenage and young adult (TYA) cancer
  • Vaginal MESH
  • Wessex facial nerve centre

Some of these services are regional and offer psychological support to people from a wide area.

If you're within one of these services and would like to meet with a psychologist, then please talk to your medical team.

Unfortunately, we're not funded to work with patients from all of the different specialties within the hospital. If you're currently experiencing any difficulties and are not under the care of one of the teams listed above, please contact your GP who can direct you to an appropriate psychological therapist within the community.
