Bramshaw women's unit

Bramshaw women's unit is an 18 bedded ward on E level at the Princess Anne Hospital. We care for patients experiencing problems in all areas of gynaecology, including surgical gynae-oncology, urogynaecology, general gynaecology, laparoscopic treatments and early pregnancy.

We receive patients from different routes, including GP and out-of-hours referrals, accident and emergency referrals, clinic referrals and direct ambulance referrals (meaning these patients can avoid the emergency department).

Patients experiencing difficulties during the first 19 weeks and six days of their pregnancy may be referred to the Bramshaw unit. We also care for patients having breast surgery and some general surgical procedures.

Bramshaw ward provides an out-of-hours gynaecology assessment service, offering patients access to emergency gynaecology review 24/7, when this is appropriate.
