Maternity bereavement service

Our maternity bereavement midwives are available to offer support to parents after a baby has died or has been diagnosed with a terminal illness.

The team caring for you understand that this is likely to be an incredibly difficult time for you and your family, and will do their best to offer support and answer any questions you may have.

Our bereavement midwives will discuss the available options to you and can support you in organising the funeral or making memories.

Everyone is different and how you feel will depend on your circumstances, previous experiences and physical wellbeing. You and your partner may need time to grieve.

The midwives are experienced in supporting women with varied cultural or religious requirements, and can contact the chaplaincy if you wish them to.
