Preterm birth clinic
Our team may look after you if you have a risk factor which means that you may be at an increased risk of giving birth to your baby prematurely (early). Preterm birth is defined as birth at less than 37+0 weeks gestation. It is a common complication of pregnancy and around 8% of births in England and Wales are preterm.
The clinic hopes to reduce the chance of your baby being born early but unfortunately not all late miscarriages and preterm births can be prevented. We will make a personalised plan for you based on your pregnancy. This may include scans and other tests to find out if you may be at an increased risk of having your baby very prematurely. In some cases, we will offer treatment to try to prevent your baby from being born prematurely.
